नाविबो ने नारियल तेल क्षेत्र में संभावनाओं और चुनौतियों पर संगोष्ठी आयोजित की

CDB organized seminar on Prospects and Challenges in the Coconut Oil Sector

गुणवत्ता प्रबंधन और खाद्य सुरक्षा मानकों पर प्रमुख हितधारकों के साथ संवाद की सुविधा हेतु नारियल विकास बोर्ड ने 21 मई 2024 को कोची में नारियल तेल क्षेत्र में संभावनाओं और चुनौतियों पर एक दिवसीय संगोष्ठी आयोजित की। कोचीन ऑयल मर्चेंट एसोसिएशन (सीओएमए) के अध्यक्ष श्री तलत्त महमूद ने संगोष्ठी का उद्घाटन किया और अपने उद्घाटन भाषण में नारियल तेल उत्पादन में गुणवत्ता मानकों को बनाए रखने की आवश्यकता पर जोर दिया और नारियल तेल में मिलावट को रोकने में बोर्ड के समर्थन का अनुरोध किया। मुख्य नारियल विकास अधिकारी डा. बी. हनुमंते गौड़ा ने अपनी परिचयात्मक टिप्पणी में नारियल क्षेत्र के समावेशी वृद्धि और सुस्थिर विकास के लिए नारियल उत्पादों के प्रसंस्करण, मूल्य संवर्धन, विपणन और निर्यात पर ध्यान केंद्रित करने की आवश्यकता पर बात की।

भारतीय खाद्य सुरक्षा और मानक प्राधिकरण (एफएसएसएआई), ब्यूरो स्टैंडर्ड्स, ब्यूरो वेरिटास, राष्ट्रीय अंतर्विषयी विज्ञान एवं प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान (एनआईआईएसटी), क्षेत्रीय विश्लेषणात्मक प्रयोगशाला (आरएएल) और नारियल विकास बोर्ड के अधिकारियों ने संगोष्ठी का नेतृत्व किया। डा. सोबन कुमार, वरिष्ठ तकनीकी अधिकारी, एनआईआईएसटी और श्री थॉमस किरण, अनुसंधान अधिकारी, आरएएल संवादात्मक सत्र के पैनल सदस्य थे। श्रीमती लीनामोल एम.ए., सहायक निदेशक (विपणन), नाविबो ने विभिन्न नारियल उत्पादों के संवर्धन के लिए नाविबो द्वारा दिए गए समर्थन के बारे में जानकारी दी। कार्यक्रम में नारियल तेल निर्माताओं के प्रतिनिधियों ने भाग लिया। बैठक ने नारियल प्रसंस्करण से संबंधित प्रौद्योगिकी में प्रगति को साझा करने के लिए मंच प्रदान किया और संवाद ने संसाधकों के सामने आने वाली चुनौतियों और बाधाओं के बारे में जानकारी प्रदान की, जिससे इस क्षेत्र में आवश्यक नीतिगत पहल की उम्मीद है। श्रीमती दीप्ति नायर एस., निदेशक (विपणन), नाविबो ने स्वागत भाषण दिया और श्रीमती मृदुला के., विकास अधिकारी (विपणन), नाविबो ने धन्यवाद ज्ञापित किया।

To facilitate interaction with major stakeholders on quality management and food safety standards, Coconut Development Board organized one day seminar on prospects and challenges in the coconut oil sector on 21^st May 2024 at Kochi. Shri.Thalath Mahmood, President, Cochin Oil Merchant Association (COMA) inaugurated the seminar and in his inaugural address emphasized the need for keeping quality standards in coconut oil production and requested the support of the Board in preventing adulteration of coconut oil. Dr.B.Hanumanthe Gowda, Chief Coconut Development Officer in his introductory remarks spoke on the need for concentrating on processing, value addition, marketing and export of coconut products for the inclusive growth and sustainable development of the coconut sector.

Officials from Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), Bureau Standards, Bureau Varitas, National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (NIIST), Regional Analytical Laboratory (RAL) and officials of Coconut Development Board led the seminar. Dr.Soban Kumar, Senior Technical Officer, NIIST and Shri.Thomas Kiran, Research Officer, RAL were the panelists of the interactive session. Smt.Leenamol M.A, Assistant Director (Marketing), CDB briefed on the support given by CDB for the promotion of various coconut products.

Representatives from coconut oil manufacturers attended the programme. The meeting provided a venue for sharing advances in technology related to coconut processing and the interaction provided insights into the challenges and constraints faced by the processors which are expected to lead to necessary policy initiatives in the sector.
